Orion
36x9ft Dutch river cruiser
7½ ft airdraft
2ft draft
6ft head height in lowest part of wheelhouse
6ft2 head height in forward cabin
Dutch river cruisers are designed to be used on the inland waterways of the Netherlands and as such are shallow drafted which makes them ideal for both use on the canal, but with the added benefit of fine river capability. With a powerful and responsive diesel inboard engine, you will have no trouble put-putting along with the knowledge that the power is there if you need it.
As you can see from the pictures, the wheelhouse and aft cabin have been stripped of the side panels in some sort of remodelling attempt, but like an undecorated cake, you get to put the icing on top. What you do have is an excellent hull which we encourage you to survey and an engine in excellent running order which I’ll happily demonstrate for you on viewing.
The wheelhouse is a delightful space with beautiful natural light coming from the enormous windows, you can also open the roof hatch on those sunny summer cruises.
We will lift the boat for free for your surveyor to carry out an inspection. If there is any underwater welding work that we’ve missed that gets picked up, in almost every case we will take care of it within the asking price. We have found this is the fairest and most reliable way of delivering a boat. All the details will be confirmed in writing before we proceed.
There is no existing BSS and there is no mooring offered with this boat, hard standing may be possible (subject to availability). You can cruise the boat away from us, we are on the Grand Union Canal, around three days cruise to Central London, five days to Birmingham or four days to The Thames.
We can deliver anywhere in the UK by road (for a fee) and the boat is here (along with many others) at Hemel Marina, HP1 2RZ. We are open for viewings Monday-Friday 9-5 and Saturdays 9-3. Message me for a walk-through video.
